The Journey To Bangkok

Yesterday, I got up at the slightly ungodly hour of 4am, double-checked my suitcase and waited for Hannah to arrive to take me to the bus stop. She had kindly (or foolishly) agreed to give me a lift in order to save me having to get a taxi. After nearly getting in the way of Winchester's street cleaners, I made it onto the National Express coach and arrived a Heathrow an hour or so later.

Here is a picture of Jeff as we excitedly waiting in the departure lounge:

Pretty soon, we were at the gate, exciting Jeff still further

After un uneventful 12-hour flight, we touched down at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport and negotiated the Airport Rail Link and the MRT subway system into the center of Bangkok.

After checking in to our hotel, we walked around the Silom area in search of breakfast. We ended up eating some sort of spicy stir-fried pork with rice. Luckily, Jeff knows that the Thai for port is "moo", otherwise
we would have been stuck.

After more walking, we had an iced coffee:

... and headed back to the hotel. Bangkok in November is seriously hot and seriously humid, so much so that walking for a few hours is exhausting. We're back in the hotel now, planning our trip to the
Grand Palace tomorrow.

Be sure to check back here for some tedious blog posts soon!
